Image wrapping

Ultimately the decision of which wrap option you prefer is entirely your own but sometimes images can be more suited to one option, hopefully we can make the decision a little easier for you by providing the few simple hints below.

We offer three wrap options on our canvas prints:

Image continued over sides

This is where your image is continued around the edges of the canvas and is a popular option for images with a good size background around the main focus of your image.  To achieve this effect we wrap the outside 5cm of your image (once enlarged) to show on the sides, not the front, of your canvas.

Continuing the image over the sides is not appropriate if the main subject of your picture is close to the edge of the image.  For example, if your image is a close up of a person or pet with little else in the background, it is likely that an ear, chin or forehead may appear on the edge of the image, making the overall effect appear a little strange!

White edges

This option works well with any image but is particularly ideal for images with little or no background.  We print the image entirely on the front of the canvas leaving the sides as natural white canvas.

Mirror image over sides

This option mirrors the outside 5cm of your image (once enlarged) to be wrapped around the edge of the canvas.  This option can be very effective if you wish your entire image to appear on the front of the canvas but do not want the sides to be left white.  Beware that details close to the edge of your image (such as ears, background trees/buildings etc) will also appear on the edge of your image.

If you are unsure which of the above option is best suited to your image please do not hesitate to contact us (Phone 01273 803273 or Email studio@brightoncanvas.co.uk).  We are always happy to advise on individual images.
